Quarter 4 Week 3
Class,
Here's another math blog post. Find a recipe, either at home or online, and give a ratio of two ingredients. For example: this recipe for cookies calls for 2 cups of sugar and 3 cups of brown sugar. The ratio of sugar to brown sugar is 2:3.
After giving the ratio, give the basic unit rate. If my ratio of sugar to brown sugar is 2:3 I could simplify that down to 1 cup of sugar for every 3/2 (also known as one and a half).
Make sure you have these things included.
Your recipe------------EX: Cookies
Ratio------------------ EX: 2 cups sugar to 3 cups brown sugar (2:3)
Simplified ratio (unit rate) EX: 1:3/2 or 1:1.5
Your number

In the story of Walk Two Moons, post a good question that you could ask others.
For this post I want you to put a page number where your question comes from. It can be from past sections, or from this section of readings. Remember we want to think of questions that make us think, not simple questions we can pick out right away. Here's an example:
Good question to ask:
Why do you think it was important for Sal to go with her grandparents to Idaho. (page #...)
Questions we don't want to ask:
What is the name of Sal's best friend?
Remember to put your number on your post!
